Over a two-week period in August 2024, the AAGE undertook a short pulse check survey exploring member sentiment on artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI), its application in recruitment and development, and its impact on the early careers landscape.
150 representatives across 132 member organisations shared their experience.
These responses provide valuable insights into the current state of AI usage from both employer and university perspectives. It also identifies the ethical and practical challenges members face when utilising AI within their organisations.
We hope you find this resource valuable, offering further context to and supporting your own AI experience.
The early careers sector is filled with challenges, growth and remarkable achievements. You need to be focused on recruiting and maintaining strong relationships with your incoming cohort at the same time as you continue to build capacity in and retain your existing talent.
Prepared in partnership with our research partner McCrindle, we are pleased to share our latest analysis, Engaging and retaining early careers talent, a report that reflects key themes for the early careers industry to support you in these activities.
Our analysis draws on data collected across the 2024 suite of AAGE surveys between August 2023 - March 2024 and incorporates insights from McCrindle studies. These observations reveal consistent themes in the behaviours and activities of the employers, candidates, graduates and interns within the early careers space.
The aim of the AAGE Market Snapshot is to measure the current state of the Australian Graduate Recruitment Market.
The Market Snapshot is a short questionnaire which is completed by AAGE Full Members at the beginning of each year's recruitment season.
The Market Snapshot survey collects key information on expected vacancies, starting salaries and marketing activities in relation to the following year's graduate intake.
The AAGE will produce a Market Snapshot Report summarising the data provided by our Members. The Report will be provided free of charge to all AAGE Members that participate in the survey. Only participating organisations will have access to the report.
Each year the Federal Government collects detailed statistics from every Australian university on the number of students who commence and complete a degree course. The AAGE purchases some of this data and creates the AAGE UniStats Report.
The AAGE UniStats Report provides detailed statistics on the number of students who have commenced and completed an undergraduate degree at an Australian university. This data is broken down across a range of different criteria including: university; degree subject; gender; domestic; international; indigenous. The AAGE UniStats Report allows AAGE Members to identify the approximate number of candidates with specific qualifications.
The AAGE UniStats Report is provided free of charge to all AAGE Members. Members can access the most recent report on the Member Zone.
